My friend wanted to suprise me by taking me to some where that I had never been before. After some effort finding the place, we arrived at Seoul forest. It is this new huge park in Seoul. There are many kinds of trees, play areas, a skatepark, horse training centre, big water features and more besides. We had a nice time walking around and playing in the exercise area. We filmed some stupid videos of us playing around. It's a nice place to relax on a day off.

友達から遊びに行こうと誘われた。・・・が何度聞いても『suprise』らしく教えてくれなかった！到着するとそこはソウルにある公園だった!!公園の中にはスケート場や乗馬場、大きな噴水まであった！結構大きな公園で一日中歩いて見て回った。最後に運動する器具がたくさんあるところを見つけた。そこで面白ビデオをとりまくった・・・周りで見ていた韓国人の冷たい光線を感じながら『外国人だから大丈夫!!』という。何の根拠もない自信で撮影会は夕方まで続く・・・

Everland

I made a new friend from England, his name is Harry. Harry was visiting for 3 weeks to learn about Korean culture since his life is Teakwondo. So together with the other two people I know from the UK who live here, we went to Everland! Everland is a big theme park outside of Seoul. It's located on a hill but we didn't think about the order of the rides to ride on and just went here and there so it ended it being a strain on our legs. Our favourite ride was the roller coaster. Since it was on the top of the hill, I felt a great sense of height and it made the ride more exciting. I wonder if they planned for that to happen?
Anyway we finished doing what we wanted in the theme park and then decided to ride the roller coaster again. Unfortunately we all couldn't ride together this time, so me and one friend waited for our turn. As we sat ready to ride the power all of a sudden went out. However, our friends who went first experienced the power cut during the ride. They said because of that it was more scary and more fun to ride. Wow! It was the first time a power cut had ever happened in the Everland.As we were looking around we yet again saw a strange but kind of interesting couple.


There was a pair look trend happening in Korea at the time for couples. They were such a couple. They wore respective tee shirts saying, "This is my boyfriend" (girl's tee) and "This is my girlfriend" (boy's tee) with arrows pointing to each other. Very funny! However, if they stand the wrong side of each other their respective arrows point at different people. Opps! Also while wearing these tee shirts they can't separate without there tee shirt suggesting someone else is their partner. Imagine if the guy is taking a pee in the men's toilet, his tee will point to the guy next to him and will cause some strange looks from the other men hehe.

初エバーランドに行ってきた。エバーランドは小高い丘（斜面）にある為乗りたい乗り物が園内に散らばってる場合ちゃんと順序を組み立てないと大変なことになる!! その事実を知らない私たちはあっさり『坂道地獄』に陥いった・・・。一番のお気に入りはジェットコースター!!!丘の一番高いところにあるから景色が最高!!・・・ってゆうか高すぎてちょっとあせった!!
とりあえず園内の行きたいところを一通りして最後にジェットコースターにもう一度乗ろうということになった。が運悪く今回は友達と２組に別れて乗ることになった。先に友達が出発しそのすぐ後私たちもジェットコースターに乗り込んだ。安全バーを握り締め いざ 出発!!・・・すると・・・「ガクンッ」目の前が真っ暗になった。なんだろうと思って回りを見ても明かりが無い！すぐに停電だと分かった。私たちは出発してすぐだったから良かったけど、友達は途中いきなり暗くなって見えない中を進んだらしい・・・。でも まあ貴重な体験だったかも!?なんせエバーランドでの停電は『初』らしい!!次の日に新聞に載っていた。
あっ!!!エバーランドでまたまたおもしろカップル発見!!彼氏の背中には『This is my girl friend→』彼女の背中には『This is my boyfriend←』・・・と書いてあるペアルックのTシャツ。ここで重要なの文章の横にある矢印!!!彼氏が左側、彼女が右側を並んで歩くとお互いを矢印が指して成立する。でも・・・もしうっかり反対に歩いたり、一人で歩いたりすると道行く色々な人が、そのカップルの彼女や彼氏になってしまう!!例えば彼氏がトイレにいったとする・・・すると!!　なんと隣で用を足している人は彼の彼女だということに!!　ぷぷっ

Buddha festival

Buddha festival
My friend called me to go to the Buddha festival that night!! Actually I'm not interested in Buddha at all but I love festivals!! So of course I joined him and other friends too. On the way, I saw that people had lanterns on the opposite side of the subway platform. They were on the way home obviously... Why??... Ohhhhh Nooooooooo!!!!... It can't be!! Anyway we decided to try and go there. When we were arriving people said it had already finished but actually it was still lively with some beautiful lanterns hanging up and since a traditional Korean dance performance was still going on, we didn't feel like it had already finished! Finally, we won because we saw the biggest event of Buddha festival - the live concert! It was soooo cool with beautiful pink paper falling from the sky. Actually it turned out we missed the lantern parade but without seeing that we all still had a wonderful evening! Happy birthday Buddha!

今日友達から電話があった。ブッタフェスティバル（お釈迦様の祭り）に行かないか？というものだった。実際ブッタには何の興味も無いけどお祭りという響きに誘われて。２つ返事でOKした。
シンチョン駅に向かう途中、何人か灯篭を持った人たちが私たちと逆方向に歩いていた。おかしいなと薄々感付いてはいたけど、あえて気付かない振りをしていた。でも会場がある駅についてその不安は更に大きくなった。そう!!向かいのプラットホームには誰が見ても祭りを終えて家に帰る電車を待つ人たちの群れ・・・ま・・・まさか!!
会場に着くとすぐに祭りは終わったのかを尋ねてみた・・・おじさんによると、どうやら終わってしまったらしい・・・。でも会場はまだ にぎやかで提灯も凄く綺麗だったのでとりあえず見学することにした。
すると最後に一番大きなイベントが残っていて。紙吹雪の中 みんなで輪になって踊った。ネバって残ってて良かった!!・・・ってゆーか あの家に帰る大量の人たちと おじさんはに騙された!!!!

English village

English village
I went to English Village with my friends. As we arriving there we could see a Hollywood sign on the hills that said "English Village". Also in the entrance there is a quite impressive fake Stonehenge. Am I in America or England?... No I'm in Korea. What a strange feeling. Also in the town there was no Korean language just English... The strange feeling grew. Actually as we walked around it became apparent that many of the Koreans couldn't speak English. It's a rule in the town to speak English and even the staff are all native English speakers. The staff looked so frustrated when a Korean broke the rules and spoke Korean. Of course the native speakers couldn't understand the Korean and a Korean member of the staff had to be called over to offer assistance.　It was fun to walk around the town and I was impressed at how enthusiastic the staff were. A nice escape from the sometimes over powering sound of the Korean language that I experience in the city on a day by day basis.

今日は友達と朝からEnglish Village（英語村!?）に行った。English Villageに近づいてくると何やら怪しい看板が・・・え？ハリウッド？？そう まるであの有名なハリウッドの看板のごとく小さな丘の上に掲げられた文字・・。そして入り口には当たり前のように作られたストーンヘンジのレプリカ・・・　アメリカ？イギリス？？どっち!!!　いや ここはまぎれも無く韓国だ!!
戸惑いながらとにかく中へ入ることにした。入場の前に場内でに簡単なルールが説明された。ルールとは場内では英語しかしゃべってはいけないということ!!しかし軽い気持ちで遊びにきている韓国ファミリーの皆さんはもちろん英語なんてしゃべれるわけも無く、入場1秒であっさりルールを破る。・・・てゆーか誰も英語なんてしゃべってないし・・・お店のスタッフはすべてネイティブ（英語をしゃべる人）だからちょっと韓国を忘れられたけど。でもお店の中でも 韓国ファミリーの皆さんが韓国語で注文を・・・もちろんお店の人たちに韓国語が通じる訳も無く・・・明らかに もううんざりだという顔をした店員は韓国人スタッフを呼び対処。私たちが英語で注文した時には『あら！あなた達英語しゃべれるの？』　と言わんばかりの驚いた顔をし、とても嬉しそうに対応してくれた！ここのルールって意味あるの？と思いながら英語でバイトできると思って働きに来た人たちにちょっと同情した。

aquarium

I always wanted to go the Coex aquarium after hearing how good it is. So one day with a friend I finally went. Actually it was as impressive as I had heard. I was so happy walking around it. I really liked the otters play fighting in the water and the jellyfish were fascinating. It was a wonderful afternoon (except for entrance price hehe).

今日は前から一度行きたいと思っていたコエックスの水族館にやっと行くことになった。思ってたよりも大きくて綺麗な水族館だった。とくにアシカとくらげがお気に入り♪
アシカは3匹で水の中を追いかけごっこしながら休むことなく泳ぎ続け、最後にはロープを取り合って喧嘩（汗）・・・でもそんな喧嘩も可愛く見えてしまう自分に年を感じる今日この頃・・・ふぅ
くらげは何とも綺麗で優雅で　結構長い間ぼーっと見てた。まさに癒し系!!!
癒し系といえば忘れちゃいけないのがこの魚!!!
よく見て　よく見て!!　
そう!!　魚が笑ってる!!!!!
よほど間抜けずらして見ている私の顔が可笑しかったのか。ただ単に私をバカにして笑ってたのか。なんにしろ写真を撮る間はモデルばりの笑顔キープで待っててくれたなかなか憂いヤツ。
おかげで楽しい午後だった。また行きたいな!!高いけど・・・誰かおごって!!!!

After school my friend said to me, "Shall we go to Grand Children's park?" I thought what a strange name because it suggests a park for grand children. Until we arrived at the park I was talking about the strange name of this park with my Japanese friend. When we arrived there we realized that actually the park is called 'Children's Grand Park'. My foreign friend made a stupid mistake with the name to cause us all that confusion. Anyway it was a fun day. We saw lots of animals and enjoyed the blooming SAKURA. Oh and we saw an over enthusiastic photographer:

He was taking pictures of his girlfriend causing her a world of embarrassment. For example in the picture above he's laying on the road taking her picture for a dynamic shot of her head with the SAKURA.

学校が終わって友達が「グランドチルドレンパークに行こう」と言った（英語で）。直訳すると『孫公園』変な名前だなと思いつつも暇なので行くことにした。
行きの電車の中で日本人の友達と「公園の名前孫公園って変だよね!?」「私たちの聞き間違い??」なんて言いながら、おそるおそるもう一度確認してみた。「ねえ！名前おかしくない？？グランドチルドレンパークであってるんだよね？？？」すると彼はきょとんとした顔をして「何がおかしいの？？あってるよ!!」と自信満々!!!
そして、やっと公園に到着!!
ん!?　あれ??　名前ちょっと違うような・・・。そうです違うんです!!正式な名前は『チルドレンズ　グランドパーク』　直訳すると『子供の（為の）大きな公園』　はい　大爆笑!!!
単語の位置が逆になるだけでこうも名前の印象って変わるんだなとつくづく感心した（笑)
そしてもう一つ私たちのツボにみごとハマったのが上の写真のカップル!!全然知らないカップルだけど、今しかチャンスはないと思い、シャッターを押した。
写真の彼氏　彼女をいかに綺麗に撮るかに夢中になるあまり。最後には道路に寝そべって写真を撮りだした・・・なにもそこまでしなくても・・・彼女のほうが凄く恥ずかしそうに　でも文句を言わず立っている姿に愛を感じました（笑）
でもきっと綺麗な桜と彼女の写真がとれたはず！？

Yoido

Yoido
I went to Yoido to see the SAKURA flowers and have an afternoon of fun. We rode bikes and smelled the wonderful flower scents. I went to Yoido three times that week so I really don't want to go there anymore. Maybe I'll see Yoido again next year.

桜の季節がやって来た!!・・・ということで午後から友達と一緒にヨイドへGO!!
自転車に乗って桜を見て回った♪やっぱり桜は日本人の心だね・・・うん。
でもこの一週間桜を見に行こうと友達に誘われて結局３回もヨイドへ通うはめになった!
しばらく桜はお腹一杯・・・　
桜よ! また来年!!
